Story: The makers already revealed the basic premise of the film from their promos. It’s about a small-time guy  Keshav  (Akshay Kumar) who lives in a village resided at North India. He falls in love with  Jaya (Bhumi Pednekar) and gets married with him. Now on the very first day of her post-marriage, she is being invited to join the ‘ lota-party ’ from the neighbourhood ladies, which means to do ‘toilet’ in open. Jaya is outraged with this tradition and demands to have a toilet in home. However, Keshav’s father is against with this idea as it goes against with their culture. How Keshav takes up challenge to install a toilet in his house for to win his wife’s heart and changes the so-called culture of the village by bringing up a revolution, forms the crux of the story. 'Tubelight' stands on a tiny plot & Writer-Director Kabir Khan gets stuck midway. Once Bharat leaves for war, the narrative just becomes stoic. And Laxman's relentless effort to bring back his brother with the power of 'faith' is overlong & tedious. Also, the sub-plot involving Laxman's relationship with a Chinese Family, of a mother & child, don't add much to the goings-on. To give its due, 'Tubelight' begins well & the camaraderie between real & reel life brothers offers genuine charm. But that doesn't last long. In short, 'Tubelight' doesn't make good use of its tiny plot & just goes on 136-minutes.  Kabir Khan's Writing is the weakest link here. You have to manage expectations when watching 'Raees', directed by Rahul Dholakia. Why? There are gaping flaws in the film, as there are in all Shah Rukh Khan films, even the best of them.  The editing and the structure is an absolute mess. It is evident that there was no clear direction taken on how this film is to be edited - they tried to cut it short, but there is too much plot in the film, so it ends up being absolutely tattered and incoherent, with a staccato of short scenes that are sort of flat and don't impact you, in the first half.  Don't give up on it, though, because it gets better. Dangal is a masterpiece, there is no doubt about it. The trailers give away the story, so there is nothing mysterious about it. What's amazing is the way it has been put together. It is a linear movie, no flashbacks (except the initial portion) and they keep it very short to get started with the subject of wrestling. There are a few scenes that will absolutely choke you, the phone call scene between father and daughter, no dialogue, just expressions and they understand each other's tears over the phone, freaking brilliant! Another one is the wrestling scene between father and daughter. Mr. Aamir Khan's expressions, body language, marvelous! The younger portion played by the girls is amazing and so are the actors playing the grown up portions. The bhatija character is amazingly funny and perfect comedy timing. BUDHIA SINGH – BORN TO RUN MOVIE REVIEW: A SOARING VICTORY FOR CINEMA Firstly, a humble plea to the Government of India to revoke the ban over real life marathon champion, Budhia Singh participating in Olympics. Let him run free and make India proud. Secondly, hats off to writer-director Soumendra Padhi’s for making a film, ‘Budhia Singh – Born To Run‘, that wins on all counts, be it great storytelling, or bringing to light the pathos of a born winner who is forced to stay away from doing the only thing he knows best – to run. Thirdly, this film should be made tax free, and a compulsory viewing for everybody, especially children. Films about and for children are a rarity in Bollywood, and ‘Budhia Singh – Born To Run’, is a fantastic addition to this genre.
